Because you like cringing, that’s why.

Is University Really Such a Good Thing? – Peter Hitchens on the “deliberate” “debauching of the minds and bodies of the young.”

Disunion – This looks like fun. The New York Times is blogging through the events of the Civil War in real time in lieu of the 150th anniversary. Not that I trust their take on it, but you know. It still looks like fun.

And finally,

I don’t know if I should tell you “I’m sorry” or “You’re welcome.”

I’d quote it to you, but it’s more fun to go listen to. So do it.

Re:moving Misconceptions

I know I’ve been a little MIA this week, but don’t you fret. I’ve just been prepping for a retreat this weekend.

I’m not a huge fan of the Resurgence, but they occasionaly have some helpful articles. Here’s some fun stuff to keep you busy:

A Theology of the Body: A helpful series for all of you Gnostics out there from Southern Seminary’s Gregg Allison. A little weak in places, but generally good.

Luther & Marriage: A fun series on the marriage of Martin Luther and his wife Katherine von Bora by Justin Taylor—and finished just in time for Reformation Day. My daughter Lucy’s middle name comes from that remarkable woman.

And for Fun:

It’s a Wilson Wednesday…

Every Wednesday, I intend to post a few of my favorite web gems from the past week or so. So, without further ado…

Credenda|Agenda: Modest Daughters
“We are afflicted with a real problem of schizophrenia. We are playing show and tell, but aren’t allowed to tell.”

Credenda|Agenda: The Wife as Ruler
“The wife is to be the ruler or despot of the home. This means that when she tells you to take your shoes off at the door, you will take your shoes off. And cheerfully.”

JesusAtIU.com: Confess Your Sins Daily
From Cole Tutino, one of my grad students: “Think of your sin lightly and you will regard the Cross lightly. Hate your sin only a little and your joy in being forgiven will be small. Meditate on the depths of your sin, and the splendor of His work on the Cross will become clear to you.”

Blog and MaBlog: The Holy Spirit and Sermon Prep
“The Spirit is with you as a minister of Christ. There is no reason that the Holy Spirit cannot bless you in the study as well as in the pulpit, if you are rightly seeking that blessing. You are His servant in both the preparation and the delivery. Why would He be with you in one place and not in the other?”

For Fun: This is absolutely AMAZING and good fun.
If I knew how to imbed this video, I would. It’s awesome.
